For workplaces where a higher level of first aid cover is required, our First Aid at Work (FAW) course provides learners with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to manage a wide range of medical emergencies confidently and effectively.

This Level 3 (RQF) qualification is ideal for medium- to high-risk environments, such as construction, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, education, healthcare, hospitality, and large office settings — anywhere where workplace risks demand more advanced first aid capability.

This 3-day accredited qualification, awarded by the First Aid Training Association and regulated by Ofqual, meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is suitable for individuals appointed as workplace first aiders or those who require an in-depth understanding of first aid for professional or personal reasons.

The course combines theory, practical exercises, and scenario-based learning, delivered by an experienced trainer with an emergency services background who brings real-world insight to every session.

OJ Training welcomes learners from all backgrounds and abilities. If you have any specific learning needs — such as dyslexia, hearing difficulties, or physical considerations — please let us know when booking. We’ll make reasonable adjustments to ensure you receive the support you need to successfully complete the course.

All our training venues are accessible for learners with mobility needs. Please contact us in advance if you require specific arrangements.

Our training focuses upon Rapid Cycle Deliberate Practice (RCDP), a learning technique where learners practice a skill repeatedly in short cycles, receiving immediate feedback and making instant corrections before repeating the scenario again — all within the same session. The benefits of this learning include quicker skill improvement; confidence gained from being competent, reducing the likelihood of acquiring bad habits, which is essential in learning lifesaving skills; the technique also encourages leaners to engage in teamwork activities during training.

Assessment is ongoing throughout the course, with your trainer observing participation and practical demonstrations to ensure competence in all required areas. A written assessment via a multiple-choice question paper covering the knowledge elements.

Upon successful completion, learners will receive a nationally recognised First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate, awarded by the First Aid Training Association and regulated by Ofqual, valid for three years.

Learners must be at least 14 years of age to attend. Certificates become valid for workplace use from age 16. To maintain competence, this qualification should be renewed every three years, or learners may attend a 2-Day FAW Requalification Course before their current certificate expires.

This is a practical, hands-on course that involves working on the floor and simulating real-life emergency situations. Please wear comfortable, practical clothing that allows kneeling and bending. If you have any concerns about physical ability or mobility, please contact us before booking so we can discuss suitable adjustments or support options.

Our courses are flexible, engaging, and competitively priced, suitable for both individual learners and business groups. Contact OJ Training today to book your space. Your training can be delivered at your place of work or at our community venue.
