Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
When a medical emergency happens in the workplace, the actions taken in the first few minutes can make a real difference.
Our Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course gives learners the practical skills and confidence to respond quickly, safely and effectively until professional help arrives.
This Level 3 qualification is suitable for a wide range of workplaces and industries, including home care and residential care settings, offices, retail, hospitality, education, construction, security, transport and leisure venues — anywhere that staff or members of the public may require immediate first aid.
About the Course
This is a 1-day accredited Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, designed for workplaces where a first aid risk assessment identifies the need for an Emergency First Aider.
The course combines practical, hands-on training with clear explanations and real-life examples. My aim is to make the training relaxed, enjoyable and easy to understand, while giving you the confidence to put your skills into practice should you ever need them.
Course Times: Course times are arranged to suit your organisation or venue. Please contact us with your request.
A lunch break and comfort breaks are included throughout the day.

Learner Support
At OJ Training, I want everyone attending a course to feel comfortable and supported.
If you have any particular learning needs or accessibility requirements please let us know when booking. Reasonable adjustments can be made wherever possible to help you get the most from your training.
Training, Assessment and Certification
Assessment takes place throughout the course. Rather than everything depending on a written exam at the end, your practical skills will be observed during the training to make sure you can demonstrate what you’ve learned.
Successful learners receive a recognised Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, which is valid for 3 years.
Learners must be at least 14 years old to attend. A learner cannot take responsibility as a workplace first aider until the age of 16, when it becomes the employer’s responsibility to determine whether they are suitable for the role.
What to Bring and Wear
This is a practical course.
You’ll be taking part in exercises that can involve kneeling, bending and working on the floor, so please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
